HIGH PROTEIN DIETS

After 20 years clinical experience with high protein diets and under strict medical supervision, they have proven to be highly efficient for the treatment of overweight patients, resulting in a positive outcome even in patients suffering from high level obesity.

This type of diet assumes two basic premises:

-An exclusive supply of proteins via prepared formulations
-A total or practically total restriction of carbohydrates and fats that causes ketogenesis by producing neogenesis and ketone bodies.

The consumption of proteins is basic for cellular development; they activate the degradation of fat reserves and the production of acetone, the sole appetite inhibiting substance produced by our organism.

An adequate protein intake guarantees slimming based on the consumptions of stored fat.

A suppression of carbohydrates and fat stimulates the consumption of accumulated fat and avoids the formation of new fatty deposits.

As well as the enormous effectiveness of this type of diet, it should be emphasized that it guarantees the maintenance of muscle mass and patient well-being.  The patient feels no fatigue or debilitating effects throughout the treatment.

Volume reduction is evident from the first weeks of treatment.  The skin maintains its healthy appearance thanks to the adequate protein intake.

The diet consists of several stages that should be set by the practitioner:

-Fast slimming stage: where up to an 80% reduction in excess weight can be reached.
-Slow or transition slimming stage: where a reduction of residual fat is aimed for and some standard foods are introduced to the diet.
-Maintenance stage
