BARIATRIC SURGERY: WHAT TECHNIQUES ARE USED?This surgical approach is based on two principles with the objective of inducing weight-loss: limiting the ingestion of food through a reduction in the total capacity of the stomach and/or inducing a partial decrease in the absorption of nutrients modifying the physiology of digestion and shortening the path of food through the intestine.
