FOOD INTOLERANCE TEST (ALCAT TEST)

Our organism is intolerant to a food, preservative or colorant when it produces an adverse reaction that is not mediated by the immunological system. This is a completely different phenomenon from allergies.

Human blood cells are susceptible to reactions when faced with certain foods. To react in an intolerant way to a food, these blood cells release noxious substances that are aggressive to our organism.

The ALCAT test studies the specific behavior in our own cells when faced with each food type. The reaction to determined foods gives us the guidelines to determine which elements are conflictive for our organism.

This is not a treatment for losing weight, nor is it a treatment against migraines or dermatitis. The ALCAT test only detects food intolerance. This test does not diagnose other types of illnesses related to foods like allergies, diabetes, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, etc.

It is a blood test in which a laboratory reproduces the reaction of our blood cells to 100 different foods (the most habitual in our diet) and 20 of the most commonly used colorants and preservatives in foods.

It is a diagnostic tool that should be interpreted by a professional dietician and only said professional can determine its application and interpret the results.

The function of the ALCAT test is to proportionate information about your metabolism in respect to your food intolerances with the goal of personalizing your diet and getting the most out of your treatment.

The information that can be revealed from this test has been used with success to avoid, from a dietary point of view, problems of being overweight, chronic fatigue, the retention of liquids, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, some types of dermatitis, arthritis, etc.

There are other tests of different diagnostic value that use a technique that does not detect food intolerance. Among these other tests, the ones that stand out are those based in the detection of Type G Immunoglobulins (IgG's).

The ALCAT test has been successfully applied to thousands of patients in Spain as well as to tens of thousands worldwide, including in countries like USA, Germany, England, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, etc.
